Living Nutz’s Sage Walnut Pesto Vegan recipe

Ingredients:

1 package Living Nutz Passionate Pesto Walnuts

4 tablespoons excellent quality EVOO

1 big squeeze from ½ lime

2 tablespoons dried sage

2 tablespoons dried parsley

2 fresh garlic cloves

1 pinch of dried wakame seaweed, reconstituted

 

Directions:

Place everything into a food processor or great blender and whirr until smooth. If you want your pesto thinner, add water, 1 teaspoon at a time.

Serve over vegetable noodles and enjoy.

Notes: Remember that food is medicine. Sage is anti fungal, anti viral, and anti bacterial. Some studies have shown it to be effective against candida and herpes. It has also shown anti-oxidant properties equal to that of alpha-tocopherol. It reduces perspiration and is slightly calming in its effect. Herbalists use it to calm and soothe sore throats. As a poultice, it is traditionally used to treat sprains, swelling, and bleeding. It has shown promise, in studies, for other benefits to humankind.

Do NOT use sage if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, prone to seizures or epileptic. It is not to be used for a prolonged period or in large doses.
