If you a wildflower stalker, then you are probably aware of the many edible flowers and plants at your disposal. One of our favorites is pansy. You can grow these hardy beautiful flowers or find them in the wild. They are used to treat a wide array of health problems and diseases and many folk remedies include them. Pansies contain salicylates which act as an anti-inflammatory . They also contain rutin, a bioflavonoid studied for its benefits to the cardiovascular system.
Wild pansies are known for treating many skin conditions, like psoriasis, acne, eczema, itching, impetigo. It can be used as a poultice and applied to the skin.
In addition to our greens and nut salads, we like to add pansies , as they look so vibrant, and have a delicate flavor.
