Why Soak (Sprout)?
Sprouting nuts is very similar to the process they would naturally undergo. When a nut falls from a tree in autumn, it rests on the ground until spring, when it begins to germinate and grow.
Sprouting (also known as activating) naturally breaks down the plant's protective enzyme inhibitors and tannins, which exist in nature to keep the seed dormant until it is ready to grow.
This traditional activation process noticeably transforms a normally dense nut into a much lighter, crunchier snack that is easier on the digestive system. By allowing the nut to begin its natural growth cycle, sprouting unlocks its full culinary potential and releases a clean, vibrant source of plant-based energy.
All our sprouted nuts/seeds are soaked in water from a pristine, naturally alkaline deep well in Maine (not city water!).
We choose gentle dehydration over traditional high-heat roasting to actively protect the natural oils in our nuts from going rancid. Because delicate polyunsaturated fats can be sensitive to intense heat, our low-temperature drying process ensures that these beneficial, healthy fats remain completely intact and beautifully preserved.
